River Cruise
This tour offers you and your group the exclusive use of a large houseboat capable of accommodating 16 people (double occupancy). Equipped with a shower, AC and other amenities, you will travel down the Paraguai River from Caceres to just beyond the Taima Ecological Reserve, saving precious travel time in the process. Each day you and your guide will track jaguar in two smaller boats at your own pace, returning to fish or simply relax and enjoy the solitude of your natural surroundings.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1 - CUIABA / PANTANAL ( CACERES )
Reception at Cuiaba/Varzea Grande airport and transfer to the Pantanal by car, drive 250 km into the town of Caceres our gateway to the Paraguay river. Board our Houseboat and travel d Afternoon trip by boat along the Jauru river, a remote and pristine pantanal area, full of wildlife, giant river otters, caimans, tapirs, capybaras,
birds and even a jaguar can be spotted. Observation of the sunset, night time boat trip to look for night animals with spotlights. Dinner and overnight on board the houseboat.
DAY 2- PARAGUAY RIVER EXPLORATIONS
Morning and faternoon searches for Jaguar spotting , leave the houseboat and travel by smaller motorized boats, spend most of your time tracking jaguars. Arrive to the Taiama ecological reserve late in the afternoon, park the houseboat near the entrance of the reserve. Observation of the sunset, night time boat trip to look for night
animals with spotlights. Dinner and overnight on board the houseboat
DAY 3 - JAGUAR PHOTO SAFARI AT TAIAMA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE
Early wake up, at around 05 am, we will embark in our smaller boat and explore the Estaçao Ecológica do Taiama, the park is one of the best places for jaguar spotting, we will also see other wildlife including giant river otters, caimans, capybaras, and many bird species. We will explore small channels and lakes, quite often we find the jaguars on the river banks, recent guest have seen several of these huge predators, during the day, many of them at very close range for extended periods. Late afternoon we return to the houseboat
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 - JAGUAR PHOTO SAFARI AT TAIAMA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE

DAY 5 - JAGUAR TRACKING AT PARAGUAY RIVER REMOTER REGIONS
Full day river Safári downstream along the Paraguay river, this great location has the highest density of jaguars and jaguar sightings in the entire Pantanal. Recent guest have seen several of these huge predators, during the day, many of them at very close range for extended periods. Late afternoon we return to the houseboat
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 - JAGUAR TRACKING AT PARAGUAY RIVER & TAIAMA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE
Morning searches for Jaguar spotting , leave the houseboat and travel by smaller motorized boats, spend most of your time tracking jaguars. Meet the houseboat for lunch. Today we start our travel back to Caceres, we will sail the rest of the day, time to rest and enjoy the scenery. Later in the afternoon we will park the boat and will go for a night time boat trip to look for night animals with spotlights. Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 7 - PANTANAL / CUIABA
Morning search for jaguars, sail most of the day,lunch on board, arrive to Caceres, then travel to Cuiaba by car, drive 220 km, arrive to the airport, end of our services.
Please note: This itinerary should be used as a guide only and may vary from day to day depending on road and river conditions, weather, group decisions & desires, and circumstances beyond our control.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
HOUSE BOAT
Our river boats are fully equipped with air conditioned cabins, shared bathrooms, a kitchen and radios that allow us to leave behind the busy lodges, roads, dust and other groups to really get into the wilderness that is the Pantanal.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
Pick up from airport or bus terminal, 6 nights accommodations at lodges, full board in the Pantanal (breakfast, lunch and dinner), transfers in air-conditioned vehicles, guided excursions with bilingual guides with knowledge of local fauna and flora ( activities as mentioned in the program ).
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
Laundry, phone calls, person expenses, soft drinks/beverages, meals during transfers, airport taxes, drinks with the meals, optional night in Cuiabá, tours not described in the itinerary.
WHAT TO BRING
We recommend trekking or tennis shoes as well as a pair of sandals, lightweight clothes for warm weather with some long sleeved tops and trousers for mosquito protection. In addition lightweight raingear, swimsuit, hat or cap, film, mosquito repellent, binoculars, sunglasses, raincoat, flashlight, a woolen jacket and sweaters (from April to October), Vitamin B pills to be taken 3 days prior to arrival and during stay. Vitamin B acts as mosquito repellent. |
