Day 1 –Cuiaba to Porto Joffre ( Pantanal )
Reception at Cuiaba airport, you will be met by your guide, and depart for the pantanal.
After an hour an half drive we arrive to the town of Pocone, we stop at a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch we will drive for approximately 4 - 5 hours (observing wildlife) to the end of the 140-km-long Transpantaneira. The Transpantaneira is one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the world. As you drive along this famous dirt road you will have your first introduction to an incredibly rich area.You can admire the flora and fauna and make several stops to film or take photographs. Arrive to the lodge Hotel Porto Joffre in time for dinner. After a break, we will go out again by jeep with spotlights searching for jaguars along the transpantaneira road, in the area of Campos do Joffre, agood area to see Pumas, ocelots, tapirs, and jaguars. Overnight at The lodge Hotel Porto Joffre.
Day 2 - Full Day Search for Jaguars by Boat
After an early breakfast, we leave the Hotel Porto Joffre for a full day boat trip, we will travel upstream along the Cuiaba river, then continue upriver along the 3 Irmaos river, to explore the Meeting of the Waters State Park. This park contains some of the most pristine protected areas in the Pantanal and has the highest density of jaguars and jaguar sightings in the entire Pantanal. We will see a wide variety of wildlife, and jaguars. Return to the Lodge late afternoon, we will make a spotlighting trip looking for jaguars in our way back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge, Hotel Porto Joffre.
Day 3 - Full Day Search for Jaguars by Boat
After an early breakfast, pack up and board our boats, and we leave the Hotel Porto Joffre for a full day boat exploration trip in search for jaguars, we will travel upstream along the Cuiaba river, then continue upriver along the Piquiri river, to continue explore deep inside the Meeting of the Waters State Park. This area has the highest density of jaguars and jaguar sightings in the entire Pantanal. We will see a wide variety of wildlife, and jaguars. Late in the afternoon, just before dark we will set up camp on the banks of the Piquiri river. Dinner and overnight. If you are not tired, we will make a night boat trip searching for wildlife and Jaguars. Bush camping.
Day 4- Full Day Search for Jaguars by Boat
After an early breakfast, pack up and board our boat, and travel upstream along the Piquiri river, to continue explore the Meeting of the Waters State Park. We will see a wide variety of wildlife, and jaguars. Late afternoon set up camp in a beautiful beach , after dinner we will make a spotlighting trip looking for jaguars . Bush camping.
Day 5 - Leave again by boat after an early breakfast.
Today we go further up river and
spend most of the day in this even more remote region, and the richest region for Jaguar
and other cats. Late afternoon arrive to Pousada Piquiri, enjoy dinner on arrival at the lodge. Overnight at Pousada Piquiri, located on the banks of the Piquiri river.
Day 6 – Today we will continue exploring this great region or Jaguar tracking.
Morning boat trip looking for wildlife, return to the lodge for lunch. After a break we will go out again for a afternoon boat safari, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7- After an early breakfast, pack up, depart and travel downstream along the Piquiri
river, then travel downstream along the Cuiaba river, always in search for the Jaguar.
Set up camp late in the afternoon, near the 3 Irmaos river. Spotlighting trip, dinner and overnight, bush camping.
Day 8 - Early breakfast, pack up, travel downstream along the Cuiaba river, arrive to the Lodge Reguigio do Caracar in time for lunch. The lodge is located on the banks of the Cuiaba river, and just across the river from Negrinho river, the lodge is in a location that has the highest density of jaguars and jaguar sightings in the entire Pantanal. The habitat along these rivers allows for numerous jaguars to roam the area hunting their favorite dry-season prey: the abundant 4-7 foot caimans and plump capybaras. We will stay overnight at the Refugio do Caracara lodge.
Day 9- River and Forest Explorations
After an early breakfast we will go horseback exploring the forest in search for jaguars, and to see other wildlife, fi you don't want to go in horses we can make a jungle walk.. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we leave the Refugio do Caracara lodge for an afternoon boat trip along the Negrinho riverto observe the diversity of the animals in the region. We will watch for jaguars, tapirs, ant-eaters, giant otters, birds and other animals common to this region. Recent guest have seen several of these huge predators, during the day, many of them at very close range for extended periods. Return to the lodge at the end of the afternoon in time for dinner. Overnight at Refugio do Caracara lodge.
Day 10 - Return to Cuiabá.
After breakfast we will take a 1-hour boat ride to Porto Joffre, then continue for a 4 hours drive back to Pocone. This allows us another chance to spot wildlife along the edges of the Transpantaneira Road. After lunch at Pocone, there is a 1 hour and 30 minutes on asphalt to Cuiabá. End of our services.

DAY 1 – Reception at Cuiaba airport, pass by the Ecoexplorer office for final payment of the tour, depart for the Pantanal. First we travel 100 km on an asphalt road, pass by Pocone and enter the Transpantaneira road. We will have a pick nick lunch style along the way. Stop when we see interesting wildlife for photos, we will see abundant birdlife. The travel time until we reach Porto Joffre at the end of the road, will take approximately 6 hours. We will reach Porto Joffre in the dark, because we will make some spotlighting looking for Jaguar in the area of Campos Do Joffre, we saw Jaguars in this area in the past years. We will set up the tents on the banks of the Cuiaba river near Porto Joffre, cook dinner, and overnight.
DAY 2 – Early morning around 4 pm jeep safari on the Transpantaneira road looking for Jaguars. Return to Porto Joffre for breakfast, pack up, board our boat and travel upstream along the Cuiaba river looking for Jaguars, we will travel slow, looking at the river banks. After one hour drive we will enter the 3 Irmaos river, this region is inside the Meeting of the waters park, a new protected area, it has a high density of population of jaguars. We will travel most of the day along this narrow river, we will have great opportunities to see abundant wildlife in the area. We will return by the end of the day to the Cuiaba river, right at the meeting with the Pequeri river, set up camp, make dinner. After we will go ut for a night boat trip in search for jaguars.
DAY 3 – Early breakfast, pack up camp, and depart.
Full day river exploration looking for jaguars, today we will travel along the Pequiri river, also good area for Jaguars, and other wildlife including giant river otters, tapirs, capybaras and others. In the late afternoon, we travel downstream and return to the Cuiaba river, set up camp near the confluence of the Cuiaba and 3 Irmaos river. After dinner we will go again by boat with spotlights to look for jaguars.
DAY 4 – Early morning start, pack up camp, and depart, travel once again upriver along the 3 Irmaos river looking for jaguars, by mid day return to the Cuiaba river, travel downstream looking for jaguars, set up camp near the Negrinho river, this is also a good area for Jaguars, last years we saw jaguars in this area several times. After diner we will for a night boat trip with spotlights looking for jaguars. Overnight.
DAY 5 – Early morning boat trip looking for jaguars along the Negrinho river, then return to the Cuiaba river, and travel upstream, keep looking for Jaguars, we will arrive to Porto Joffre, by mid day, and swap to our Car and travel back to Cuiaba. Transfer to the airport, or to a Hotel. End of our services.
