BRAZIL: PANTANAL AND ALTA FLORESTA RAINFORESTS TOUR
Mato Grosso, Brazil

This Pantanal and Amazon tour combines two of Brazils most important and impressive natural environments and takes you on a journey through a variety of ecosystems and scenery home to a startling richness and diversity of wildlife. However the part of the Amazon we visit has not yet been opened up to tourism and so remains relatively untouched and pristine in contrast to the well known tourist destinations around Manaus. We will only meet local Indians and fishermen in the circuit we follow through this region exploring the different ecosystems it contains. These vary from areas of high land with stunning vistas to the lowlands spreading out below, seasonally flooded forests, beautiful stands of palm trees, dense rainforest and crystal clear rivers. The remoteness of these regions also mean that our chances of seeing some of the rarer and more elusive Amazon mammals and birds are much greater as we learn about the many important species of flora they support and meet some of the locals tribes that still live in this region. Our second voyage of discovery takes us into the vast wetlands of the Pantanal to experience their diverse and abundant wildlife. Here many of the animals and certainly the birds appear to be almost on display as we travel through the beautiful scenery enjoying the variety, colours and splendour on offer. You can decide how much time you want to divide between these two fascinating regions or let us plan your tour to take you to see all the wonders contained in these two famous wildernesses. However long you spend in each area you will benefit from Mato Grosso states unique feature of containing two of Brazils greatest areas of natural wealth.
