This wildlife tour takes you through three
of the major ecosystems of Brazil and as
such is a great idea for those who want
to see a lot of what Brazil has to offer
but don’t have much time. We travel
down the Transpantaneria of the Pantanal
through the wetlands famous for their rich
and varied birdlife past riverbanks crowded
with caiman and capybara. From here we head
north to the transitional region of Guapore
where the Pantanal converges with the beginning
of Amazonia and the Brazilian savannah that
sweeps across central Brazil. Here we will
take canoes down the Rio Guapore traveling
through the rainforest giving us a chance
to discover the sights and sounds of the
jungle and spot pink and grey river dolphins
as well as many of the species endemic to
the Amazon. We then make our way up to the
large plateau overlooking the river and
the savannahs where we can hike through
beautiful scenery and visit some of the
breathtaking waterfalls that have formed
there. This trip involves a mixture of activities
and accommodations and as such combines
demanding and active days with time to relax
and enjoy the natural wonders around you.
From caiman and capybara to river dolphins
and giant lily pads and waterfalls set amidst
stunning vistas this is a great way to discover
in a short time the diversity and richness
contained within Brazils wildernesses.

This wildlife tour provides a great combination
of activities, scenery and wildlife making
the most of the ecological riches of the
Mato Grosso region of Brazil. If you are
after variety for your visit to Brazil
then this tour is for you mixing amazing
wildlife with hikes through spectacular
scenery and snorkeling down crystal clear
rivers. We will take you up to the Chapada
dos Guimarães savannah land where
you can hike through beautiful scenery
to the many waterfalls found in the region
and enjoy some stunning views from the
plateau towards the Pantanal. We then
head to the Nobres region, similar to
the ecological centre of Bonito in the
southern Pantanal but less developed and
touristy. From here you can snorkel down
crystal clear rivers filled with fish,
visit local caves and grottos, relax by
natural swimming pools and watch as the
macaws come to rest in their palm trees
every night. After this we will take you
on a journey into the diversity and abundance
of Pantanal wildlife. We will make safaris
looking for anteaters and tapirs, explore
the river banks for caiman and capybara,
search for some of the more elusive nocturnal
animals and see a wealth of birdlife that
is scarcely believable. If you are looking

This Pantanal and Amazon tour combines two
of Brazils most important and impressive
natural environments and takes you on a
journey through a variety of ecosystems
and scenery home to a startling richness
and diversity of wildlife. However the part
of the Amazon we visit has not yet been
opened up to tourism and so remains relatively
untouched and pristine in contrast to the
well known tourist destinations around Manaus.
We will only meet local Indians and fishermen
in the circuit we follow through this region
exploring the different ecosystems it contains.
These vary from areas of high land with
stunning vistas to the lowlands spreading
out below, seasonally flooded forests, beautiful
stands of palm trees, dense rainforest and
crystal clear rivers. The remoteness of
these regions also mean that our chances
of seeing some of the rarer and more elusive
Amazon mammals and birds are much greater
as we learn about the many important species
of flora they support and meet some of the
locals tribes that still live in this region.
Our second voyage of discovery takes us
into the vast wetlands of the Pantanal to
experience their diverse and abundant wildlife.
Here many of the animals and certainly the
birds appear to be almost on display as
we travel through the beautiful scenery
enjoying the variety, colours and splendour
on offer. You can decide how much time you
want to divide between these two fascinating
