Some of the world’s best wildlife watching awaits visitors to the south Pantanal. Species of mammals and birds that are considered endangered and rarely seen in most other regions are relatively widespread in the South Pantanal, where wildlife observation is particularly easy. On this trip you will explore the Pantanal da Necholandia one of the rarely traveled parts of the South Pantanal wilderness. This is an overland cross country expedition intended for adventurous travelers. It is completely and deliberately off the beaten track, with only a very remotes chance of encountering other tour parties. Instead of staying in the usual established camps, we will set up bush camps at various locations across the Pantanal, as well as having an opportunity to sample some typical local culture by spending a night at a fazenda ranch. On this trip, you will have the unrivaled experience of viewing truly undisturbed wildlife at very close range. You should easily observe up to 400 species of birds, several species of monkeys, caiman, capybara, lizards, tapirs, marsh deer, river otters, giant anteaters, deer, peccaries, maned wolves, and with good luck a jaguar.

For the real outdoor enthusiast, we will conduct our exploration on different days on foot and on horseback, by 4x4 and canoe to observe and learn about the spectacular local wildlife.
Both a driver and a guide accompany this active and heavily participatory expedition. We provide tents, sleeping sheets, and roll mats, all of which can comfortably be carried with you and your luggage in our 4x4 truck. All cooking equipment and supplies are provided, and we also carry a large cooler box which we keep stocked with ice for as long as possible during the trip. Expedition participants are divided into cooking teams by our crew, and we share the duties cooking on gas stoves and, where appropriate, by open fire.
