This is a Pantanal river
and land exploration expedition intended
for adventurous and intrepid travelers.
It is completely and deliberately off
the beaten track, with only a very remotes
chance of encountering other tour parties.
Instead of staying in the usual established
camps, we will set up bush camps at various
locations across the Pantanal, as well
as having an opportunity to sample some
typical local culture by spending a night
at a fazenda ranch. On this trip, you
will have the unrivaled experience of
viewing truly undisturbed wildlife at
very close range. You should easily observe
up to 400 species of birds, several species
of monkeys, caiman, capybara, lizards,
tapirs, marsh deer, river otters, giant
anteaters, deer, peccaries, maned wolves,
and with good luck a jaguar- an adventurous
Pantanal tour to experience wild and hidden
Pantanal sites.
Terrain: Pantanal Matogrossense. Pantanal
do rio Piquiri, Pantanal do Rio Itiquira
& Pantanal do Paiaguas.

Day
1- Head out from Cuiaba and drive 300 km
on paved road, then follow a dirt road for
another 30 km to our 1st campsite, on the
banks of the rio Correntes. Stop frequently
along the way for observation and photography.
After lunch we go for a walking tour with
an orientation about local flora and fauna
of the Pantanal. Before dark we go for a
sunset boat tour to observe wildlife.
Dinner and overnight at campsite 1. Sleep
in hammock s or tents.
Day
2- Early breakfast. Leave the campsite and
travel by motorized boat down the rio Correntes
then continue along the rio Piquiri. Full
day exploration of Piquiri river and some
of the many wildlife-rich natural waterways,
looking for caimans, river otters, Capybaras,
monkeys, a multitude of bird species including
the blue and yellow macaws.
Sleep tonight in a hammock at bush camp
2, located on the banks of the Piquiri river.
( we also provide tents).
Day
3- Early breakfast before trekking into
the wetlands to see a variety of birds and
animals. Return to the boat for lunch, then
continue travel down the Piquiri river into
more remote areas. After dinner we go for
a nocturnal safari by boat. Sleep tonight
in a hammock at bush camp 3, located on
the banks of the Piquiri river.
Day
4- continue exploring this remote area by
boat , trekking, birding, fishing. Late
afternoon we arrive to the Itiquira river,
here we will set up our bush camp 4. After
dinner we go for a night boat cruise in
search of nocturnal creatures, including,
jaguars, pumas, etc.
Day
5- Full day Jeep safari by 4WD vehicle deep
into remoter areas of the Pantanal for wildlife
tracking (jaguars, maned wolf, anteaters,
armadillos, tapirs, and others). Overnight
at Bush camp 4
Day
6- In the morning, go further into wilderness
on horseback. After lunch, another vigorous
encounter with nature.
Overnight at fazenda ranch, meet the local
people of the area.
Day
7- Depart the pantanal by 4WD. Return to
Cuiaba, arriving at around 5pm. Drop off
at the hotel or airport. End of our services.

Some of the world’s
best wildlife watching awaits visitors
to the south Pantanal. Species of mammals
and birds that are considered endangered
and rarely seen in most other regions
are relatively widespread in the South
Pantanal, where wildlife observation is
particularly easy. On this trip you will
explore the Pantanal da Necholandia one
of the rarely traveled parts of the South
Pantanal wilderness. This is an overland
cross country expedition intended for
adventurous travelers. It is completely
and deliberately off the beaten track,
with only a very remotes chance of encountering
other tour parties. Instead of staying
in the usual established camps, we will
set up bush camps at various locations
across the Pantanal, as well as having
an opportunity to sample some typical
local culture by spending a night at a
fazenda ranch. On this trip, you will
have the unrivaled experience of viewing

range. You should easily observe up to

For the real outdoor enthusiast, we will
conduct our exploration on different days
on foot and on horseback, by 4x4 and canoe
to observe and learn about the spectacular
local wildlife.
Both a driver and a guide accompany this
active and heavily participatory expedition.
We provide tents, sleeping sheets, and
roll mats, all of which can comfortably
be carried with you and your luggage in
our 4x4 truck. All cooking equipment and
supplies are provided, and we also carry
a large cooler box which we keep stocked
with ice for as long as possible during
the trip. Expedition participants are
divided into cooking teams by our crew,
and we share the duties cooking on gas
stoves and, where appropriate, by open
fire.
DAY
1- Campo Grande- Pantanal da Necholandia.
Head out from Campo Grande and drive 250
km on paved road, then follow a dirt road
for another 75 km to our first campsite,
located on the Necholandia area, one of
the most wildlife rich regions of the Pantanal.
Stop frequently along the way for observation
and photography. Dinner and overnight at
campsite.
Day 2-.Set out on foot early in the morning
to begin exploration of this incredible
region teeming with wildlife. After lunch,
we set out into the field again, but this
time by boat along the many winding natural
waterways, searching for caimans, river
otters, a multitude of bird species, returning
after the dark, looking for nocturnal animals
by spotlight. Overnight stay at campsite
1.
DAY
3 - Full day jeep safari for wildlife spotting
in the Necholandia area.
Early morning departure, venturing by 4x4
vehicle deep into remoter areas of the Pantanal
for wildlife tracking (jaguars, maned wolf,
anteaters, armadillos, tapirs, and others).
After setting up our bush camp 2 for the
night, do more birdwatching, photographic
hikes. After dinner, jeep safari with spotlights
to look for animals.
DAY
4- trekking, horseback safari, Bush camp
3.

5- Full day safari by car and on foot, taking
in visits to lakes, wildlife watching, and
learning about indigenous plants with medicinal
properties. Overnight stay at a ranch to
interact with the local people.
Day
6- full day river exploration by boat along
the many winding natural waterways, searching
for caimans, river otters, a multitude of
bird species, returning after the dark,
looking for nocturnal animals by spotlight.
Bush camp 4.
Day
7- Early morning hike for sunrise. After
breakfast, horseback riding to explore the
grasslands in search of wildlife. After
lunch, depart for Campo Grande, arriving
at around 8 pm.
Due to the ever-changing nature
of the wetlands, day –by-day activities
may vary
due to weather, trail, road or river conditions
Package
includes: Pick up from airport
or bus terminal at gateway city, bilingual
guide, river transport, sleeping accommodations
in hammocks with mosquito nets or tents,
mineral water, and all meals during the
trip.
What to bring: We recommend
that you bring the following: Lightweight
sleeping bag
Lightweight rainproof jacket, Lightweight
long trousers, long sleeves, T-Shirts or
tank tops, Shorts, swimwear, Footwear suitable
for trecking (walking boots or strong running
shoes), Sandals, Sunscreen, Insect repellent
- a bar of biodegradable soap, Torch/Flashlight
& spare batteries. Camera & plenty
of film. For really effective wildlife photography
a 200 - 300 mm lens is recommended.
binoculars (vital to enjoy birdlife and
wild animals), strong one-litre water bottle
general pain killers, Antihistamine (such
as benadryl), useful as a descongestant
for colds and allergies, to ease the itch
from insect bites or stings.
