other tour companies we do not rely on just one lodge
and its surrounding lands to show you the Pantanal
but combine several different types of lodge and settings
in our tours in order to show you the variety and
richness that characterizes the region.
All our Pantanal classic lodges are comfortable and
fully-equipped but their styles also vary from lodges
that are more touristy and luxurious providing for
relaxation time in-between safaris by the swimming
pool to more basic classic lodges in harmony with
their surroundings whose focus is upon nature and
as such are frequented by many of the local animals
and birds. All you need to do is let us know whether
you wish to visit the northern or southern region
of the Pantanal, your particular interests and the
style of trip you are after and we will create one

Itinerary
DAY
1- Arrive at Cuiaba/Varzea Grande airport or
pick up at the hotel and transfer to Pantanal
lowlands. We will arrive at the lodge in time
for lunch. Late afternoon hike around for an
introduction of the area, and observe wild animals.
Dinner. Night tour to observe nocturnal animals.
Overnight at the lodge.
DAY
2- Breakfast. Full day dedicated to observing
the Pantanal’s flora and fauna at the
Pousada Piuval private reserve. After breakfast,
the guide will lead you on a horseback ride
through the pastures, woods, and wetlands. Lunch.
In the afternoon, a boat tour in the Piuval
Bay to spot aquatic wildlife and birds and fishing
for piranha. Also, observe a spectacular sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY
3 – Following an early breakfast soon
after daybreak, we depart and travel another
40 km into the richest and lowest regions of
the Transpantaneira. Keep your eyes peeled for
endangered marsh deer, South American coati,
yellow anaconda, giant anteater, toco toucan,
hyacinth macaw, and a host of other animals.
Arrive at the Pousada Santa Tereza for lunch.
Mid-afternoon, we set out into the field again,
but this time by boat for wildlife spotting
and piranha fishing, arriving back at the lodge
after dark, having searched for numerous twilight
and nocturnal animals by spotlight. Dinner and
overnight.
DAY
4 - Early morning hike to observe the sunrise,
and bird watching. After breakfast, we will
take a hike through the wilderness of the Pantanal.
Return to Cuiabá after lunch. Drop off
at the airport or your hotel.
ACCOMODATIONS:
Pousada Piuval Set
amongst wide-open savannahs with its own lake
packed full of birdlife this lodge is great
for enjoying the stunning views across the Pantanal,
taking safaris out to search for animals and
relaxing by the swimming pool of this high quality
lodge. This trip provides an introduction to
the Pantanal’s nature and wildlife. The
Pousada Piuval is located 120 km from Cuiaba,
20 km from Pocone, and 3 km off the Transpantaneira
Park road.
Hotel Fazenda Santa Teresa
This pretty lodge set on the banks of the Rio
Pixaim is a great base for the exploring the
ecosystems of the river and for spotting giant
river otters, capybaras and caiman to mention
but a few. It is also an ideal location for
an afternoon of peaceful fishing or for enjoying
the tranquility at the waters edge.

Itinerary
DAY
1-Arrive at Cuiabá/Varzéa Grande
airport or pick up at your hotel and transportation
to the Pantanal lowlands. We will arrive at
the Pouso Alegre lodge in time for lunch. Hike
in the late afternoon hike with an orientation
to the area followed by dinner Night safari
(on foot) to spotlight caimans and nocturnal
animals. Stay at the lodge overnight.
Day 2- Full day
dedicated to observing the Pantanal’s
flora and fauna found on the Pouso Alegre
private reserve. After an early breakfast,
drive along a private dirt road to Bento Gomes
River; canoe trip to spot aquatic wildlife,
birds, and flora. Nature walk through the
woods to learn more about the local environment.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon,
the guide will lead you on a horseback ride
to continue exploring the forest and grassland.
Return to the lodge for dinner; nocturnal
safari in search for more wildlife.
Day 3- Following
an early breakfast soon after daybreak, we
depart and travel another 80 km into the richest
and lowest regions of the Transpantaneira
road. Keep your eyes peeled for endangered
marsh deer, South American coati, anaconda,
giant anteater, toco toucan, hyacinth macaw,
and a host of other animals. Arrive at the
Pousada Jaguar for lunch. Mid-afternoon, we
set out into the field again, in an open car
for a wildlife Safari, arriving back at the
lodge after dark, having searched for numerous
twilight and nocturnal animals by spotlight.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Early

watching. After breakfast, we will take a
hike through the wilderness of the Pantanal.

This
tour takes you on an exploration of the 165km
of the Transpantaneira road, a scenic road with
more than 100 bridges that span small creeks,
lagoons and rivers, making it a very special
vantage point from which to see abundant wildlife.
Along the way you’ll come into direct
contact with the flora and fauna of the Pantanal,
such as jacaré, capybaras, jabiru storks,
macaws and white egrets surrounding the bridges
and other water ways. There is a good chance
of seeing anacondas sunning themselves in the
afternoon. Activities include : Walking tours,
